Politics & Politicians

Remember the Egyptian revolution of 2011, popularly referred to as the Arab Spring. We truly believe that even in a democracy, social media can change perceptions and can swing people’s voting behaviour.

In India, the true power of social media was unleashed in the General Elections held in 2014. We cannot forget the spectacular victory of Narendra Modi and the beautifully planned social media strategies that propelled him to power.

At LLE, we are more interested in social media for the political landscape of Tamil Nadu. As the Tamil voters are increasingly seeking information about their candidates, social media clearly gives an edge to tom-tom about oneself. The politician’s daily political and administrative chores in his domain can be captured in the social channels and this can be a powerful way to connect with his constituency.
